Our Prayers answered once again as Shrine receives new funding

Our beautiful and beloved Shrine Church is to benefit from a funding package from the National Churches Trust, the UK’s church repair and support charity.

We have been awarded a £10,000 National Churches Trust Repair Grant to fund urgent repairs to the roof which cover the side altars dedicated to the Sacred Heart and to Our Lady Help of Christians.

Regular visitors will have noticed that during periods of rainfall, water can be seen to breach the roof and cause damage to the fabric of the building and to the flooring. The leaks have worsened significantly since they were identified for urgent repairs in 2013.

We are very grateful to The National Churches Trust (NCT) who have funded two previous phases of work at the church in 2013 and 2015.

NCT has helped a total of 36 churches and chapels in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland and they will benefit from a share of the £596,000 fund that has been made available.
