St Benedict’s School – Progress Update

We all know how vital it is for the future of the Church that our children are thoroughly formed in the Catholic faith.

At St Walburge’s in Preston, in the last century, there was a thriving school in the convent and library buildings just next to the shrine.

Now we are going to give new life to that school and bring back the sound of children’s voices to its walls. St Benedict’s School will provide a solid, traditional education and Catholic formation for its pupils, under the spiritual care of the Canons of the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest. We know that many families are seeking just such a formation for their children.

We have now reached milestone in the pathway toward our objective and this is the establishment of a precursor of the main school at St Walburge’s.

Our good news is that that lessons will commence for our ‘little pioneers’ from 21st November 2017 in accommodation at new Shrine Church of the English Martyrs, Garstang Road, Preston.

This group of “little pioneers” can’t wait for their lessons to start! But much needs to be done to prepare the buildings to make them ready for the school and to buy the necessary resources. Please read our brochure below which provides an insight into what we have achieved so far and how, with your prayers and assistance, we can make further progress.
